APYNES HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERAs a Wedding Photographer based in the South West, I am really lucky to be a Pynes House Wedding Photographer that has photographed a number of weddings at this spectacular Devon Country House Wedding Venue. It is so useful having a photographer familiar with your venue and I thought it would be helpful to share a little about this fantastic spot to get married in Devon – one of my absolute favourites!

With the most stunning entrance and driveway, Pynes House is a truly elegant wedding venue. Steeped in history and recently lovingly restored by the present owners, it is an ideal space for anyone who wants a beautiful backdrop for their wedding in Devon.

The sweeping driveway leads you to a stately entrance framed by beautiful bay windows, once inside, the house has the most welcoming feel. It is a really versatile venue and suitable all year round, with great options for both indoor and outdoor weddings. When choosing a wedding at Pynes house, you have a fantastic choice of indoor spaces for the ceremony including the grand Drawing Room or one of the other large spaces. Outside there is ample space for a marquee or you could even get married outside on the steps, surrounded by unparalleled views across the Exe Valley.

The accommodation at Pynes house is exceptional and the twelve bedrooms offer the perfect location for those all-important ‘getting ready’ shots and provide the ideal backdrop for the ‘behind the scenes’ journalistic style of photography that I specialise in. Each room is a heavenly retreat but the Bridal Suite is truly spectacular.

When photographing weddings at Pynes House, I love the understated yet effortless style of this wedding venue. Right from the moment you approach the house, the grandeur and romance of this venue is all around you. Stepping into the beautiful stone entrance hall, wedding parties and guests are greeted with a luxurious interior that tows the perfect balance between being a neutral backdrop for any wedding yet with the most sumptuous touches and real character and history.
Once inside the fantastic Drawing Room, the warm and inviting atmosphere adds an extra element of intimacy to any ceremony. There are a number of other ceremony rooms that are also licenced for weddings in the house, with the largest space able to accommodate 130 people.

Last summer, I had the privilege of photographing Hannah and Martin’s day at Pynes House. Their wedding day was again blessed with stunning weather, which meant they could have a beautiful outdoor ceremony complete with a photobombing sheep! Their catering was by the Pickle Shack, flowers by Poppy’s of Exeter, an amazing cookie tower by Sweet Buns Devon, beautiful vintage furniture by Keeping it Vintage and the Master of the Ceremony was Jo from Grace and Honour.

Some of my favourite weddings that I have captured at Pynes House include Tamsyn and Patrick’s beautifully elegant day. Their wedding took place on a lovely sunny day in June and the ceremony began in the house followed with delicious canapes on the terrace outside. For their caterers they chose the wonderful West Country based Posh Nosh and in the evening they treated their guests to delicious wood-fired pizzas from Pig & Olive another Devon based catering company. The flowers were by Devon-based florist Laura Hingston and for hair and make-up Tamsyn chose Devon Hair and Wedding Make-Up Artist Eve Ashby

Another of my absolute favourite Pynes House Weddings was that of Sophie and Tom, once again the weather was amazing and the couple really utilised the whole space, with their ceremony taking place in the Drawing Room and they used the lawn area for a marquee for the reception.

One of the first weddings I photographed at Pynes House was Emily and Oliver’s day, their celebration was an intimate family affair, with delicious catering by The Pickle Shack, beautiful flowers by Sophie Millington and music by the Metropolis Swing Quartet during the day and by the Mammoth Band in the evening.

Pynes House Wedding Photos

I have been really looking forward to sharing this selection of Pynes House Wedding Photos from the lovely Hannah and Martin’s wedding at Pynes House that I photographed last Summer. A day filled with a photobombing sheep – let’s call it sheepbombing, a rather handsome little fellow named Axel, and lots of celebrations in the sunshine.

I know, I always mention it, but the weather was fantastic! I spoke to Hannah a couple of days before the wedding and they were really hoping to have an outdoor wedding ceremony at Pynes House in front of the house (at that point the weather was a little touch and go), but they did it – I was so delighted for them!

There was an incredibly special guest at Hannah & Martin’s wedding at Pynes House – let me introduce Axel – Hannah and Martin’s gorgeous pup – he looked rather dapper in his tux!

Having their ceremony outdoors was absolutely fantastic. The ceremony backdrop, provided by Keeping it Vintage was so elegant, styled with florals and draped chiffon – it worked perfectly with the rustic chairs.

The flowers were by Poppy’s of Exeter and Hannah’s beautiful bouquet was filled with whites and greens, with Roses, Veronica, Eryngium, eucalyptus and fresh rosemary. The food, by Pickle Shack, looked amazing – as always – and Hannah and Martin’s guests enjoyed superb canapes in the blooming Rose filled grounds at Pynes House.

The early evening light was a real treat, and while Hannah and Martin wandered around the grounds at Pynes House, I took some shots, with the slight interruption from a nosy sheep! It honestly was such a brilliant wedding to photograph – Pynes House is always such a beautiful venue to get married at – I love photographing weddings there. Hugest congratulations Martin & Hannah, thanks for choosing me to capture your amazing day!

I’m delighted to finally share the highlights of Tamsyn & Patrick’s Pynes House Wedding Photography. Pynes House is one of my absolute favourite Devon Wedding Venues, a real treat to photograph and I have been fortunate to photograph a number of weddings at this gorgeous venue. Tamsyn and Patrick got married at Pynes House on a sunny Saturday in June, surrounded by friends and family, with a beautiful ceremony in the House, followed by canapés on the terrace.

The bridal party looked beautiful, Tamsyn wore Justin Alexander, from Alison Jayne Bridal in Bristol. For Hair and Make-up, Tamsyn chose Devon Wedding Hair and Make-up Artist Eve Ashby, who is based in South Devon.

The stunning florals were by the incredible Laura Hingston Flowers, a floral studio based in Devon. Laura created an incredible selection of arrangements in cream, blush and pastel tones, which worked so well with the styling of the day and backdrop of Pynes House.

The delicious wedding catering was provided by Posh Nosh, who are caterers covering events in Devon and the West Country and the Woodfired Pizza in the evening was provided by Pig & Olive.

Tamsyn and Patrick chose to have a wedding film and Sam and Megan from Ooh Nice Productions did a fantastic job of capturing their day – there’s a link to the film at the bottom of the post.

Many, many congratulations Patrick and Tamsyn, it really was such a pleasure to photograph your wedding at Pynes House!

I’m delighted to finally share Sherri & Jono’s Paschoe House Wedding Photography highlights. Surrounded by family and friends Sherri and Jono got married at Paschoe House, which is an incredibly beautiful County House Devon Wedding venue. Paschoe House is a superb Devon wedding venue, set on a private Estate. Located just outside Exeter Paschoe House offers spectacular views reaching across Dartmoor.

Sherri and Jono styled and planned an absolutely brilliant wedding day, and chose a brilliant group of suppliers. Their intimate ceremony took place at Paschoe in The Dining Room, witnessed by friends and family. Following the confetti throw, my favourite moment from the day was watching the flower girl empty an entire basket full of petals all over herself!

Following the flowery fun, Sherri, Jono and I were lucky enough to take a little time to capture some portrait shots in the grounds of Paschoe House. Much to my delight, the Magnolia blossom was out, which impossibly, made Paschoe House even prettier! Canapés and drinks were followed by the wedding breakfast and reception, which took place in Paschoe House’s stunning glasshouse conservatory, with a superb attention to detail and absolute treat to photograph!
