Pynes House Wedding Photographer
AAs a Wedding Photographer based in the South West, I am really lucky to be a Pynes House Wedding Photographer that has photographed a number of weddings at this spectacular Devon Country House Wedding Venue. It is so useful having a photographer familiar with your venue and I thought it would be helpful to share a little about this fantastic spot to get married in Devon – one of my absolute favourites!
With the most stunning entrance and driveway, Pynes House is a truly elegant wedding venue. Steeped in history and recently lovingly restored by the present owners, it is an ideal space for anyone who wants a beautiful backdrop for their wedding in Devon.
The sweeping driveway leads you to a stately entrance framed by beautiful bay windows, once inside, the house has the most welcoming feel. It is a really versatile venue and suitable all year round, with great options for both indoor and outdoor weddings. When choosing a wedding at Pynes house, you have a fantastic choice of indoor spaces for the ceremony including the grand Drawing Room or one of the other large spaces. Outside there is ample space for a marquee or you could even get married outside on the steps, surrounded by unparalleled views across the Exe Valley.
The accommodation at Pynes house is exceptional and the twelve bedrooms offer the perfect location for those all-important ‘getting ready’ shots and provide the ideal backdrop for the ‘behind the scenes’ journalistic style of photography that I specialise in. Each room is a heavenly retreat but the Bridal Suite is truly spectacular.
When photographing weddings at Pynes House, I love the understated yet effortless style of this wedding venue. Right from the moment you approach the house, the grandeur and romance of this venue is all around you. Stepping into the beautiful stone entrance hall, wedding parties and guests are greeted with a luxurious interior that tows the perfect balance between being a neutral backdrop for any wedding yet with the most sumptuous touches and real character and history.
Once inside the fantastic Drawing Room, the warm and inviting atmosphere adds an extra element of intimacy to any ceremony. There are a number of other ceremony rooms that are also licenced for weddings in the house, with the largest space able to accommodate 130 people.
Last summer, I had the privilege of photographing Hannah and Martin’s day at Pynes House. Their wedding day was again blessed with stunning weather, which meant they could have a beautiful outdoor ceremony complete with a photobombing sheep! Their catering was by the Pickle Shack, flowers by Poppy’s of Exeter, an amazing cookie tower by Sweet Buns Devon, beautiful vintage furniture by Keeping it Vintage and the Master of the Ceremony was Jo from Grace and Honour.

TAMSYN & PATRICK’S PYNES HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Some of my favourite weddings that I have captured at Pynes House include Tamsyn and Patrick’s beautifully elegant day. Their wedding took place on a lovely sunny day in June and the ceremony began in the house followed with delicious canapes on the terrace outside. For their caterers they chose the wonderful West Country based Posh Nosh and in the evening they treated their guests to delicious wood-fired pizzas from Pig & Olive another Devon based catering company. The flowers were by Devon-based florist Laura Hingston and for hair and make-up Tamsyn chose Devon Hair and Wedding Make-Up Artist Eve Ashby.
Another of my absolute favourite Pynes House Weddings was that of Sophie and Tom, once again the weather was amazing and the couple really utilised the whole space, with their ceremony taking place in the Drawing Room and they used the lawn area for a marquee for the reception.
The flowers were by THREE ACRE and the cake was by local cake maker Cherry Blossom Cakes.

One of the first weddings I photographed at Pynes House was Emily and Oliver’s day, their celebration was an intimate family affair, with delicious catering by The Pickle Shack, beautiful flowers by Sophie Millington and music by the Metropolis Swing Quartet during the day and by the Mammoth Band in the evening.
